Description

A complete geographical map (wall map) of the world which divided into two hemipheres, Western hemisphere and Eastern hemisphere. The title reads from right to left across both maps. According to Chinese worldview during the 17th century, North and South America are counted in the Eastern Hemisphere. The Western Hemisphere part need to be placed on the right when the maps are viewed together. In this way, the Chinese title Kunyu quantu, which runs across both maps (the large characters at the top of the maps), also becomes correct.
